November 2024 and the Worlds Okayest Author

Hey all!

Nothing like a stock image of three progress bars to get you in the mood for an update, huh?

Well, without further ado. There’s been a lot of work being done on various novels and written works around these parts. Here’s a quick summary:

“Historical Novel 1”

I have (finally) completed the first draft of my novel set in the same universe as the PPS but up to five hundred years earlier. The novel, which will get a better title at some point, follows three members of the Johnstone family (Daniel, Zacharias, and Bridget) in three time periods (the Roanoke Colony, the witch trials in Salem and the Boston Massacre) as they are forced to create and perfect a serum that allows vampires, humans’ ancient enemies, to walk in the sun.

It took up a lot of space in my head for a long time and now all I have to do is turn that draft into something you will want to read.

PPS 5 and 6

PPS 5 and 6 have been a fantastic journey and both of them are out to the editor. PPS 6 was originally supposed to be PPS 5. I had literally finished my rewrites on it the day President-Elect Trump was shot in the ear. Given that PPS 6 deals with the fallout of an attempted assassination, I could not just let it out in the wild and eventually decided to release it after the election.

So, for PPS 5, I did what any author should do for their characters: I sent them to the amusement parks in Florida. Hijinks ensue.

When Vance Met Courtney

This is a new short story I am plotting. It’s the story of how the series’ main character, Vance, meets one of the biggest, baddest mercenaries in the world, how they fall in love, and how she tries to (halfheartedly) kill him.

PPS 7

My hope is that about 20 minutes after I finish this blog post, I will take it up again. I have about 700 words on it already and I cannot wait to write it. PPS 6 is probably my favorite thing I have ever written. PPS 7 will hopefully top that. It’s also the second-to-last book in the first Act of the series (of 4 total Acts.) So I have a lot of ground to cover.

Mecha Plus

For those of you interested in my non-fiction writing, Mecha Plus is going to get the finishing treatment it deserves this month. I just have some setting work to complete and the revision to my award winning RPG Mecha will be ready for playtest and publishing.

I hope you see something in this list that interests you. Let me know if you have any questions?
